J. Lawayne Walker received a B.S. degree in Mathematics and a B.A degree in Secondary Education from Athens State University in 2005. While in college, he served as color guard instructor and visual designer for several bands throughout the southeast. A Math teacher by trade, he is presently the full-time visual and guard instructor for the Cullman High School Band in Cullman, Alabama, a post he has held for the past 5 years. During his time there, the CHS Color Guard has been honored with numerous Best in Class awards, superior ratings and performed in national and state events such as "The Nation's Parade" in New York City and the Alabama Gubernatorial Inaugural Parade. Mr. Walker also serves as the principal guard instructor for the Southeastern All-Stars Music Camp, a visual design consultant for various bands, a clinician and a judge throughout Alabama and Tennessee.
