Linda Bean is in her 18th year as band director at Cullman Middle School in Cullman, Alabama. Mrs. Bean directs the advanced middle school band program including marching, concert, and jazz bands. In addition, Mrs. Bean directs the CMS, East Elementary, and West Elementary beginning band programs. Linda, a graduate of Fairview High School, attended Wallace State College, where she received her Associates of Arts degree. She also received a Bachelor of Music Education degree from the University of Montevallo and a Master of Music Education degree from the University of North Alabama. Mrs. Bean credits her interest in music education to the direction of renowned band director Steve McClendon whom she began studying trumpet under at Fairview High School. Most recently, Mrs. Bean is actively involved in the study and research of aural/sensory techniques used to facilitate stroke rehabilitation. Linda is married to Robert Bean and has two children, Robert and Marie Bean. Her professional affiliations include MENC, AEA and the Who's Who of American High School Teachers.
